Nite Out

Work and school have had me chained to an empty calendar for about three years now. Yes, that's pathetic, but what can you do. One of the lady's I used to work with got together a bunch of the Library crew to meet up at the local comedy club (in suburbia no less). My mom was shocked when I said I wanted to go. I really do miss the whole social life thing.

The MC of the night, Steve Trevelise, is a guy from the local radio – does traffic. He named a few call signs and I just didn’t recognize any of them. By the end of the night, I realized which stations he was talking about. I haven’t listened the radio much lately since my drive to the train station is only a few minutes, but I used to regularly listen to him reporting on the traffic.

The next guy was Brian McKim. Funny guy. He has a completely different approach to standup than the other two. He runs an online comedy magazine. McKim reminded me of a man I know who I wouldn’t consider a comedian so it drove me crazy through his whole thing, but like I said, funny guy.

The headliner of the night was Pete George. This guy has an amazing ability to do voices and is a great guitarist. Definitely had me laughing until my sides hurt. I regret not getting the CD. I’m sure it’s hilarious. Hey Pete, get your online store up and running!!!

Well, the club's now shut down for a few months for renovations. Good times were had by all. Really need to do this more often and go back when it reopens.
