Conservative Dress Softens Up
I work for a fairly conservative (at least in dress) financial services firm - not to the degree of suits, just business casual, but they did not allow denim of any kind at any time. There was the rare occasion where we could wear jeans for a charity day event. Honestly, having grown up in the corporate business (specifically financial) environment the dress code didn't bother me one way or the other. To some people the "no jeans ever" policy really angered them. To me, there are just rules you have to follow to the play the game (or get a paycheck for that matter).
Anyway, the company recently hired a new CEO (the other guy moved on to a new company). During a meet-and-greet type event, one of the questions raised was about the jean policy. (You should have heard the crowd.) The new CEO promised to look into it, because his last company allowed it. Long story short, an email was sent out the other night stating we would try Friday jeans for the summer and see how it goes. This should prove interesting.
