Look At Those Penguins March

It was just a busy couple of days. Between a trip to the dentist and a wedding, Mom and I topped it off with a movie and not just any movie but the penguin movie. It's technically a documentary that went wide-release. March of the Penguins
, narrated by Morgan Freeman, had its happy moments and its sad moments. They definitely did the realities of nature with this film, hence the sad parts.
And for as much as the penguin is my favorite animal, I had completely forgotten about the crazy ritual that is the breeding season for the emperor penguin. They literally march 70 miles inland to the breeding ground because by the time summer comes the ice has nearly melted that far inland and protect the egg for months on end without eating. The winters are beyond harsh. The little babies are absolutely adorable. The whole thing about how the eggs and babies sit on the parents’ feet has to be my favorite. When I was little I would sit on my father’s feet when we were stuck waiting on a line. It was better than sitting on the ground. I can't remember if I got that from doing projects on penguins in elementary school or what. Those were the days, right?
For the record, I like going to movies early on a Sunday morning and this particular theater seems to make a habit of it. There's barely anybody in the theater and you have your pick of seats. Mom has her eye on another bird-related movie due on in August, I think, that's from the same people that created Shrek. That should be a laugh and a half based on the trailer.
