Now That's Just Strange

Just when I thought I had seen it all, my mind boggled even further. Every night I follow pretty much the same routine, even on Fridays. I pull into the garage and enter the house through the laundry room, put my stuff down in the kitchen, etc. This time, I was greeted to a crazy fish stench and blue goo on the laundry floor. Like I said, the mind boggled.

The fish smell was easily explained, Mom's lunch. The blue goo, no so much. Apparently the container of laundry detergent that was firmly placed on a small step stool had fallen over at some point in the afternoon and a pair of cleaning gloves ended up square in the middle of the puddle - almost placed there, crossed.

Considering all the doors were locked and nothing else seemed disturbed, I'm guessing the house wasn't broken into with intent to spill laundry detergent. It's just completely strange. You would think that if gravity had flipped the container of detergent (stranger things have happened), that the step stool would have gone with it. And physics must have forced the detergent out of the closed cap (or we have a faulty cap on that one).

Or we had a visitor from the great beyond that will rename nameless. It depends on what you believe, right? This is one that I can't explain with standard convention, that's for sure. I forgot to take a picture in the process, sorry.

PS. The cleanup of this one was not so much fun either. I tried wiping it up with paper towels at first but that wasn't getting me too far, so I opted to scoop it up with my hands. Have you ever tried washing your hands after touching that much detergent? I should have used those gloves! And the lovely puddle extended under the washer and dryer. Mom tipped those back while I shoved my hand underneath to wipe up more goo. I did mention that it wasn't much fun, right. At least it was a Friday night.
