Living a Mouseless Day
Now here's an interesting experiment. Try not using your mouse while using your computer. Can you do it? It seems that most applications (and web pages for that matter) are designed around having a mouse. They aren't meant for tabbing your way between things. Sure you can get away with some of the control keys (control-c, control-v, etc.), but the rest of it can just be plain frustrating.
I am conducting said experiment out of necessity. You see I bought myself a nifty wireless, optical rechargeable mouse back in February and forgot to put it in the recharge cradle for the last week or so. And now,I am getting battery low warnings. Lovely. Can we say productivity killer?
I guess I could dig out my wired mouse and plug that in, but that's just extreme measures and would require crawling around on a dusty floor. I'm trying to come up with non-mouse required activities for a while to let it recharge and then I can proceed full steam.
I have a few design wireframes and reading to do so time is not really wasted. It's just annoying to need something off the computer only to grab for empty space. UGH!
