Maybe The Expensive Salon Shampoo Isn't So Bad After All

A couple of Saturdays ago, I bought some "salon" shampoo and conditioner of course at Target. They now have a little section called "Salon Products" or something along those lines in the shampoo section. I figured, what the heck, let's give it a try. I've only used $3 a bottle shampoos and wanted to find out what all the hype was about. Since my salon offers a discount on hair products when you have a salon purchase, I figured I'd try it now and then take my salon up on their discount later.

Anyway, my first impression wasn't all that good. At nearly $10 a bottle each, it was very disappointing. I thought all the hype was that with a small pea-sized amount of product, you'd end up with a super soapy head. Apparently that's not the case with this particular product line. With the first few tries leaving my hair looking dry, I found the whole experience a little on the depressing side for my wallet.

Since I didn't just want to waste my $20, I figured I might as well use more and just get the whole expensive experience over with. So now I can't figure out if it's a "my hair needed to get used to the new products" or "the amount does matter", because I'm noticing a nice improvement in my hair.

This is going to sound fairly strange but... I am forever rearranging my hair from down, to ponytail to bun to down to whatever. I just twist it up as I'm working on the computer. Within a 2-hour period, my hair could easily change 6 times. I'm a little crazed like that. Today, I'm noticing the top of my head doesn't feel as bumpy. Girls will understand this one. Whenever I pull my hair back, my hair never looked smooth on top. And now it feels smooth. I don't think it looks or feels greasy and it certainly doesn't look dry. I said it was going to sound strange.

Ok, the one thing I am still not trilled about is the smell of the Jojoba (pronounced as ho-ho-ba), but I'll probably get used to it. In the meantime, my Biosilk Silk Therapy oil stuff covers that up nice.
