There's That Guy Again
So I saw that guy on the train again, the one from several months ago when he asked me for money and then got off the train. Honestly, I now definitely doubt that he actually bought a train ticket. You know, it's people like him that make people shy away from helping those in need.
Anyway, he has apparently pulled the same line before because my train buddy recognized him as well. He asked another guy for money and I don't think he handed any over. Next thing you know, the train doors close and we're off. I don't think he was too happy about that one because I think he tried getting off the train as we were coasting away. Apparently he ended up giving the conductor a receipt, which I doubt was actually for his own purchase, instead of a real ticket. There's something about this guy. The eyes look a little on the "wild" side.
And that was the second guy today asking for money. While I was waiting in the city for my train to arrive, a guy turned around, waved some sort of card in the air asking for money. I think he said he was an Iraq War veteran and needed money. I honestly didn't hear the whole story, but he claimed not to be a bum - "Look at my clothes". One of the ladies gave him some money and then he went to another crowd and I'm guessing he did the same spiel. As he was walking toward a third crowd, I saw him pocketing the money. Now maybe I'm wrong, but I really think this guy was pulling a scam.
