Huge Google Update Coming

Word for the Google people is that their new datacenter (currently called “BigDaddy”) is being tested and readied for full release. It’s currently accessible through two direct IP addresses.

I checked it out a couple of days ago for the first time and I started to get very nervous. It seemed that this website was only partially crawled. Only the pages that were directly linked from the homepage were in the index. UGH! I have a few pages that do rather well on some fairly random keywords but they weren’t showing up in the index!

I checked again today and it seems the rest of my site has been indexed. I am in the process of redesigning my site. I have a new design completed and I’m just trying to get the Movable Type setup correctly (on a testing domain at the moment) before I roll it out for real. Updating the HTACCESS file for that will a tons of fun. Oh yes. Good times will be had by all (lol).
