Online Bill-Pay Rocks

I really don’t like writing checks. I try to avoid it as much as possible because of the spelling out the numbers part. That’s the deal breaker for me since spelling is not something that I’m known for.

I have very few bills to pay, generally only it’s only credit cards so I had been paying them through their own online payment interfaces but that can get annoying because you have to go out to each of their websites to setup a payment.

Within the last year, my bank’s online bill payment features have grown – or at least the participating company list has grown. Granted, you can still send payments to companies not on the list, but being on the list takes a lot of the guesswork out.

Now in theory I should be able to pay my bills through Microsoft Money now that I’ve setup my payees at the bank. And I save a stamp (sorry post office people) and don’t have to worry about a payment getting there on time.

I should note that before I bank (lol) on setting up a payment correctly, I send an initial $25 early payment. This was I’m sure I have enough time to send a full payment in case there’s a problem.
