The Train Tried to Leave Without Me Again
I should have taken that as an omen it was going to be "one of those days".
My local train came in a top speed this morning so I started to jog down the platform because the train finally stopped multiple cars further up than usual and they don’t open the back cars. Anyway, just as I’m getting up to the back car, I see the conductors doing the light-flashing-thing to signal to go!!!! Hello, I’m standing right behind you.
So I start yelping "wait wait wait". He turns around and says, "don't worry, you’re fine" to which I reply "you pulled in 6 cars further than usual". Finally he turns around and realizes that there are 10 more people trailing behind me. Would you believe that he didn't collect our tickets after that? I think he knew he was in the dog house.
On the way home, I jumped on a train as the doors were closing only to find out the train was going to the yard, Oops. I don't feel so badly because there were already people on the train and I wasn't the only one jumping on. That's the problem when you leave a train open at the time that the next train out was supposed to leave. What a mess!!!
