Home Sweet Home
Mom and I made it home safe and sound. Hurray. It's good to be home. I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, with my pillow and not hearing motorcycles at 2 AM. It was a lovely vacation and we both had fun, but it's still nice to be home.
We started out early this morning, leaving ourselves extra time just in case. We did take a quick stop at the local Target to check things out. I picked up some Aloe spray to try and get a handle on my sunburn. I'm still flogging myself with a wet noodle over it, and I have the discomfort to remind me to pay better attention to how much sun I'm getting. The spray helped some but really didn't cure me enough.
We took the wrong turn trying to get to the airport. Oops. We had to make a big loop in order to get back. Luckily, we still managed to get there with enough time to spare - more than enough. The Ft. Lauderdale airport is definitely smaller than Newark NJ airport. I was looking forward to browsing some stores while we waited for our plane home but it turns out there weren't any where we were sitting. I did grab a soda from one of the terminal restaurants.
The ride was on the bumpy side. Granted, I have had train rides with more "turbulence". I sat in the middle between mom and a college student I didn't know. He hogged my arm rest for the entire ride. How rude! With the sunburn on my arms, I spent the entire ride trying not to touch anything.
The drive home went pretty smoothly, thank goodness. I ran out for cold cuts and milk and aloe gel. The aloe gel helped some but I’ve since upgraded to Cortisone-type cream.
I'm caught up on my Soap, updated my banking files and cruised the mail.
