Something To The Effect There Was A Fire At The Train Yard

When I reached the train station this morning, expecting the usual grind, there was an announcement that my usual train was cancelled due to mechanical problems and the next train would be at 6:28, or so I thought. Since it would have just about taken me that much time to drive to the other train station, I figured that I would stay put. I wanted to here about M's last two days anyways. She's been interviewing for new jobs.

At some point during the next half hour I'm told that the train that I'm now waiting for is now 20+ minutes late. Ugh. Had I known that, I would have driven to the other station. Oh well. Seconds dragged into minutes as we all waited for some sort of train to appear.

I even went for coffee (I grabbed a magazine instead) with one of the girls who was also waiting. The expensive train finally showed up and refused a helping hand (or seat for that matter). I'm now confused because one of the guys that I see taking the expensive train every day said he didn't have a ticket and was subsequently told to get off the train. I thought he worked for one of the transit companies?

So the late train finally showed up with my conductor helping out. I had to ask, of course. He mentioned a fire at the train yard. I wonder if it was my train that had caught fire? And then he jokingly mentioned something about a bear on the tracks. I'm not sure if he was serious or not. I can't find anything on the news websites about the situation either way.

At least I finally got to work, only about an hour late. I think I worked enough time during the rest of the week to cover my lateness, thank goodness. So much for luck of the Irish I guess.
