Crazy Antics At The Local Steakhouse
Mom and I took our long-time friend/neighbor out to dinner tonight to a local Steakhouse. Our neighbor has been having a rough time with some sort of allergy (probably) the last bunch of months and with it seriously acting up the last we thought it would be nice to get her out for a bit. Mom also had a couple of coupons to use so what better time to use them.
It took about 20 minutes to get seated so we chatted in the entry while waiting about what my neighbor could possibly be allergic to. It's an unending mystery.
We had a waitress and waitress-in-training serving us tonight. And, apparently there was lamb on the menu as a daily special. Mom and my neighbor were eyeing it up and asked the waitress what they'd heard about it. Turns out the waitress has a soft spot for lambs so she said it was good but she had a problem with eating cute little lambs. I'm not kidding, she actually said that. Needless to say, we all burst out laughing to the point of stomach pain. The waitress-in-training had a soft spot for pigs (with a pig tattoo to boot), but she still eats pork. The waitress is also in the process of becoming a police office.
Basically the whole evening turned out to be one big laugh about my neighbor’s allergy mystery (all you can do is try to laugh at this point) and the kooky waitress. She probably got a kick out of us too. We might have as well been completely drunk for as goofy as we were acting.
The waitress-in-training figured out Mom and I related. We have the same eyes-ish. But she couldn’t figure out my neighbor’s connection, an Aunt maybe? Nope, long-time neighbor, family friend.
I did I mentioned it a kooky dinner?
