That’s Going to Hurt the Pocketbook

My Car Dealership sent a notice the other day that it’s time for my 6 month service. They seem to think that I reached my 3,500 miles. I’ve only driven about 1,500 miles in the last 6 months but after six months I really should get the car looked out at least to make sure it’s still in good running order.

I called today for an appointment and the Service Tech he suggested that I’m close enough to 60,000 miles to have that service done. And, since the car sits a lot more than it used to, it’s also a good idea for a through checkup. I did get a bit of sticker shock when the Service Tech said it would be $640 for the service visit. UGH! That’s going to hurt the pocketbook a bit more than expected. But, I did go back and look at my paperwork from my last service visit and realized they may have done some of the work last time. I’ll note that on my service envelop and include a 10% coupon so that should also help cut the cost a bit.

This does all bring up an interesting idea. I drive less than 5,000 miles a year and from what I hear, if you drive less than 7,500 you can see a car insurance savings in your premiums. I have to call the agent one of these days and find out further details.
