Random Magazine

About a month or so ago (could be two at this point), a magazine arrived in the mail. At first glance I assumed it was miss-delivered. It's a hip-hop type magazine for men. I happened to look at the label and realized that my name was on there. Huh?

So I thought about it for a minute and assumed it was some sort of preview issue, that they took my name from a bought list or something. Considering an annual subscription is only $6 (for 6 issues) I can see them sending some out as a try to see who will subscribe. Now I usually read cooking and home-type magazines so I'm not sure how they made the jump that I would be interested in this particular magazine. I don't subscribe to popular culture magazines so I'm not seeing the connection. I don't think I'm anywhere near their demographic.

I went to get the mail tonight and mixed in was another issue of the magazine. I popped over to the website looking for subscription and contact information. Sure enough, they have me down as being a subscriber since the end of March. I dropped them an email to find out what's going on. Sometimes if a magazine folds, the publisher will put you into a new magazine with a similar subject. I'm fairly certain I'm still receiving all the magazines I've ordered. And, even if I wasn't I don't see how a publisher would send a pop-culture magazine instead of one of my cooking magazines?
