Apparently They Weren't Lying This Time
As I was walking the tunnel at the train station this morning, I heard half the announcement that the 6:03 westbound train would arrive on the express track (lower platform). After they fibbed about that one at least twice, I was not going to believe it this time. Rumor had it the earlier train did board from the lower platform but I’ve heard similar things happen where one boards low and the next boards normally.
We tried to hedge our bets by standing a little further down the platform so in the case the train arrived as usual, there wasn’t a need to run back.
Wouldn’t you know, they weren’t lying this time? The train actually showed up on the lower platform. We jogged down to the end of the platform. At least it wasn’t a full sprint at 6 AM.
The mystery was solved while we were waiting to make our connection. A diesel cruised through pulling a disabled train.
