Sleeping In

I took off today and tomorrow from work. My employer doesn't include Columbus Day in its holiday observances. That's ok, and usually I wouldn't have taken the days off except for a once-in-a-lifetime-type event.

For my Mom's (milestone) birthday this year, I managed to grab 3 tickets to see Barbra Streisand in NYC. The seats are in a gray area of being either amazing or terrible. The important part is that we're going. She's never been before and we are taking one of her friends along too. They are both fans.

So given the big event for today, there was no way that I could it down to Philly turn around after a half day and then head to NYC. Can we say that I would have been seeing pink elephants by 9 pm? In an effort to stay up passed my usual bedtime, I lounged around in bed hours longer than usual. Anything after 4:45 AM on a weekday is lounging at this point.

I did forgot to turn on my "out of the office" email announcement, but have since done that. Even though I’m home, I figured I'd dial in for the morning just to keep an eye on things. I'm not doing much for now anyway.
