Not Everybody Has Their Own Orange

After a quick dinner tonight with Mom we ran over to the posh supermarket for a few quick things. She’s having a few ladies over for New Years. Anyway, while we were wandering around the produce section looking for oranges, I came upon the elusive Cara Cara Orange. I promptly started poking her in sheer shock. I found out about them a few years back but it seemed that the only way to get my hands on some was to order a bunch and that wasn’t going to be cheap. I just had to pick up a couple to taste.

Ok, technically it's not my orange, but call me crazy for getting a little possessive over an orange called. They are pretty nifty. On the outside they look like fairly regular oranges but on the inside, they have a slight pink tinge. The favor isn’t nearly as strong as a blood orange, but still tasty. That as a nice surprise for one day.

PS. If you like dark chocolate, you really have to try the 70% cacao dark. We picked some at Lindt the other week and boy is that good stuff.
