Running After Someone Else's Train

I'm a goof and I embrace my goofiness. This morning, just after I pulled into a parking spot at the train station I saw the New York-bound train arriving. I did a double take on the train because it didn’t look like the normal ones. It was a double-decker!!! So I quickly jumped out of my car, grabbed my bags and jogged to the platform. Yes, I was running after someone else's train because this was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

The cars really aren’t much taller than the regular cars because the double-decker is riding very close to the tracks. The seats are stationary. At first I thought everyone was facing backwards. Given I turn three shades of green when I ride in the wrong direction this made me fairly nervous. No worries, they have seats facing both directions.

The goal with these cars is to add extra capacity of the line, but I’m not really sure these cars are going to do that. I’m assuming each car weighs more and looses a fair amount of space to the stairs and mechanics. All in all, they sure are fun to look at. I hope I get to ride in one a some point.
