Semi-Productive for a 3-Day Weekend

Now that President's Day has come and gone, I'm trying to decide how productive I was over the weekend.

  • I delivered by tax information to my accountant and have a set of backup copies just in case. 2 points to me.
  • I got my haircut. I've been pretty good at keeping up with this for the last few months. 1 point to me.
  • I only read about 5 pages of my latest Ruby on Rails book. 0 points for me.
  • Ran to Sam's to pick up juice, gum and a few fairly healthy snacks. 1 point to me.
  • Made some progress on updating my online portfolio. 0 points for me since it's not done yet.

And the reason I didn't finish my portfolio because I got hijacked after lunch. I should have noticed Mom's evil smile as she asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch. After running through the car wash and having pizza, she deviously smiled that there was one more thing on the list. Apparently she wanted to buy a new car. It didn't end up taking as long as it could have considering she test drove 2 cars and took her time picking a color. I will tell you one thing. I'm taking someone else with me the next time I have to buy a car. Between the two of us, we're such pushovers to the point of just about taking the dealer's first offer.
