Online Video is Great

I tape most of the evening shows I watch because I get up at the pre-crack of dawn during the week. That doesn't mix well with late nights - at least for me.

Every once in awhile I goof and miss taping sometihng. In the past two weeks I didn't realize that Heroes wouldn't rerun on SciFi that week and my tape ran out on Lost the other night.

I had two choices - watch online for free or buy off iTunes. I bought one episode of CSI NY a few months back that I just watched. The quality was rather good. It would have been nice it the picture was larger but you can't have your cake and eat it too. Anyway. I decided to watch both Heroes and Lost online through their respective TV networks. I had a little trouble with the quality while watching Heroes. The picture and soundtrack kept loosiing synch. That's problematic when there's subtitles invovled. The quality for Lost was excellent. I haven't tried watching Fox's online offerings yet. For SciFi replays you have to buy them from iTunes. At $2 a piece, it's a bargin to catch up.

I'll admit computer-based TV watching isn't my favorite but it's great when I miss an episode and need to catch up. (I'll still be trying to tape my shows but this will be a great backup if the Daylight Saving Time changes mess up my recording schedule).
