A little lavender and blue
This week I wanted to go a little lavender. In honor a last minute shore run (yes, I'm from Jersey), I decided to go with very blue toes (Teal the cows come home). It's a great bold water-like color.
For my nails I initially tried Significant Other Color from the Brights collection. In the bottle it looked liked a medium lavender with green-ish glow - a great selection since I'm working my way through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. While it is a nice translucent color, I wanted a bolder color. I have since redone my nails with two coats of Shangri-la-la Lilac and one coat of Signficant Other Color. This definitely me closer to the color that I wanted to achieve. - lavender with some extra shine depth.
I think I also learned this weekend, after 2 weeks of nearly chipless nails is that for difficult nails, nail polish drying time may be key to the peeling problem. It's possible for those of us with difficult nails, the faster the nail polish dries, the less it adheres. I'll let you know next week if my theory is on target. I used a super quick-drying top coat initially with Essie's 3-Way Glaze yesterday. I noticed some peeling the same day after washing some dishes.
