Mischief Managed

I never imagined that I would get as sucked into the Harry Potter series as I did when I started this adventure less than one month ago - from the beginning. Just as book 7 (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) arrived on shelves I decided I wanted to find out how the story ended before someone leaked it. Waiting for two more movies wasn’t an option either. And, it’s nice to have a non-computer-related hobby from time-to-time.

Years ago I tried reading the first book but because I couldn't pronounce, let alone remember, the names I couldn't follow the story. Now that I've seen all 5 movies, the series is much easier to follow. I must say, the first two books were really close to the movie. As the books lengthened, the screenplays were modifications of the books. Overall, the gist of the story is the same. Some things were cut, or order of events changed. A 700-page book doesn't fit well into a single movie. It's hard to say which I prefer.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled I took on the challenge of reading the entire series cover-to-cover. I wish I had done it sooner and really felt connected with the release of Deathly Hallows. From what I hear it's best to read book 6 and book 7 close together. I think I'll series again. I'm sure there are tidbits that I missed while speed-reading. I did guess fairly closely one of the big OOOOOO's from the book. But I won’t be leaving any hints here. I will respect the author’s wishes.

Still, I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. Ragged Wizards Hat
