I Would Have Paid to See That
Yesterday was another problematic commuting day. I saw a disabled train that turned out to be an axel problem. They have to jack it up onto dollies in order to cart away. I would have paid to see that.

My Quest to Read the Grisham Books
I started reading Grisham books in the last couple of weeks as a new, non-computer-related hobby. I read The Broker and have a few more books on file.

A Blast From The Past Smile
After dinner tonight, Mom and I popped into the card store looking for a gift. I found cute and cuddly care bears that were too cute to resist. I came home with "Bedtime Bear" since sleeping in my next favorite past time to watching horror movies.

Hurray for Great Customer Service
My train pass order for the month didn't show up. I think my order got lost in the mail. The Train Pass people were very helpful and allowed me an exception to buy it in person at the last minute. Hurray for great customer service.

Not A Particularly Zen Day
I had train troubles this morning and had to go an alternate route. On top of that I tried to pick up my package at the warehouse and it wasn't there yet. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Happy Halloween! Where did October Go?
Happy Halloween. The month flew by and I'm taking a few seconds to think about it. I celebrated my birthday, contacted some old friends and made a few extra dollars on the side.

It's No Wonder NJ Car Insurance Rates Are So High
While I don't claim to be the best driver in the world, I do try to follow the speed limits and rules of the road. Other people disregard them and it's not wonder than NJ has the car insurance rates that it does.

I Have Crab Spider Stuck to the Bottom of My Shoe
It’s that time of year again when crab spiders find their way into the house and hide in the kitchen. This morning a fairly large one tried to hide from me only to get stepped on 10 minutes later. He did get fairly stuck to my shoe. Excuse me while my skin crawls.

My First eBay Experience (updated)
In trying to replace a collectable plate that Mom broke 4 years ago, I ended up on eBay in a bidding frenzy at the last minute. I didn't win my first eBay experience. At least I have 3 more tries to get it right.

Maybe The Expensive Salon Shampoo Isn't So Bad After All
After what I thought was a disappointing experience with expensive "salon" shampoo (and conditioner) has turned out to be much better. Apparently it takes more than a pea-sized amount it get it working. Go figure.

Sticker Shock at the Pump
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the gas prices are threatening to jump to $4 per gallon. Now is not the time to wait to fill the tanks. I had serious sticker shock at the current rates, let alone post-hurricane rates.

Now That's Just Strange
Laundry detergent spilled over the floor in what can only be described as unusual circumstances. We don't think it was a botched break-in and even physics can't explain this one. It all depends on what you believe.

Now There's Something You Don't See Every Day
The expensive train had some sort of trouble this morning. The front conductor lowered himself down to the track level to try and fix it. There's nothing more strange than seeing a head bobbling around between a train and the platform. Good thing he turned off the power.

The Characters You Meet on the Train
It was a long trip home tonight. Unfortunately a train broke down at another city station, backing everything up. I ended up in an argument over people standing being asked to get off the train and wait for the next one. We just couldn't agree and no, I don't think they were selfish for staying like some people.

Being Kind to Strangers, part 2 and 3
Do something nice for someone and maybe they will do something nice for someone else. That would make the world a nicer place. I helped a guy buy a train ticket, dontated a few extra dollars charity, gave a lost guy directions (hopefully correct) and let a boy jump ahead of me in line. All because someone helped me out in the past, I had the opportunity to pay it forward.

I'm officially done (updated)
I offically completed my Masters program and received my diploma today. Unfortunatly it seems that the school doesn't award honors at that level. So much for hard work. And in the mean time, I developed an allergic reaction to something and am now covered in spots.

Would you believe it's been quiet?
It's been a quiet couple of days, unbelievably. In the mean time, I'm reading up on business-related topics in case we want to open a family business (at some point in the *distant* future). And while trying to design a layout for one website, I designed a layout for another website instead. I'll get them all done eventually.
